Bryn Marie Migliore
In 2011, I moved to Lugano, Switzerland where I have since lived and worked as an artist. In the beginning of 2015, I began an apprenticeship to learn the lost wax bronze casting process at Perseo Fonderia d'Arte in Mendrisio, Switzerland. It was there I developed a new love and passion for bronze art technique and sculpture.
My work is derived from shapes and forms I find in nature with their relationship and similarity to the human body, most particular a woman's body. The fluidity and patterns that are repeated throughout much of my work exist to find a sort of understanding, organization and tranquility in the chaos of our world.
My most recent work and projects have consisted of exploring the transformation within ourselves that occurs over the course of our lives and existence. How we grow as people, how we grow as artists, family members and beings in society. How our beliefs and credence morph and change over the years and how while some of us grow, others wither. In these years, more than ever before, we are all connected through use of technology in such a rapid state that is affects the very beings that we are. Exploring those connections and changes with the beliefs behind them has become my source of inspiration in the past few years.
